for some reason I never expected the words ‘Vtuber’ and ‘death game’ to appear in the same game but they have and it’s beautiful – solid prose and really well-crafted characters! will be looking out for the full game >:o

Thank you so much! I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed the game especially with the death game/Vtuber concept mash-up - we hope that the full game delivers!

I really enjoyed it! The characters and story were so immersive and fun (maybe fun's not the right word lol). The history log was a bit clunky looking, but I understand that not many people will see it anyways. Also, I don't know if this is because I'm stupid but I got stuck on the e-mail for like, ten minutes because I didn't notice the X

Thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot to hear! I’m so glad you liked the story and the characters (haha, Sonoko does think it’s fun, so you’re not wrong there :‘D)! I appreciate you pointing out the history log and the email note, I’ll make it so you can click through the email in the next build and try to improve the graphics on the former.

cool setting, great graphics! not finished yet, might comment again later

Thank you so much for your feedback! I hope you enjoy the rest of the game (:

Wow. Just, wow.

The characters are very well written and very distinct from each other.

I really, really liked the contrast between photographs and drawings between the real world and the cyber-dreamspace-internet. Wonderful attention to detail.

Also I'm a sucker for synthwave/vaporwave stuff, and the aesthetic is top notch.

I really, really enjoyed it. However, I have a couple nitpicks, which are very minor but I think would add some polish to the experience:

  • It can be a bit confusing to distinguish spoken words and internal monologue just by separating with quotes. I think it would be much better to make shorter textboxes that contain only spoken words or only internal monologue
  • The game can feel a bit static at times: consider adding some more sound effects, parallaxes or moving objects a bit more frequently. I have never tried ren'py (although your game really made me want to check it out) so I don't know how difficult it is.

(the ending part of the demo was a tad predictable, but that just means you've made a very well fleshed-out world)

Bravi. I'll be keeping an eye out for when it comes out.

Hi! Thank you so much for your comprehensive feedback. It was a delight to read, and I’m so glad you chose to check Mortal Coil out. It means so much that you enjoyed the synth-wave and the photograph’s aesthetics; that you noticed and liked our detail there makes me so happy.

Your nitpicks are very appreciated: we’ll definitely work on the text-box formatting and figure out more animation for the next build!

Thank you again, and I hope you enjoy the full version when it comes out!
